Do you watch tv anymore?

Post by makara » Thu Jun 17, 2010 8:49 am

It's getting harder to maintain
any interest in so many things
that used to take up time.

Even tv ... a boon for those who live
alone ... is being switched off more.
Still watching but less.
Also reading has changed ...
once Maya is seen for what it is
(or at least believed) then it's hard
to take history or any fiction seriously.

Also once this one would have needed
a magazine while waiting ... now there
is no waiting ... just being and content to
be that. Also more quietness ... no radio
at all during the day.

So what is the experience where
IT is being you? How have yr
habits and entertainments changed?

Thanks makara for this post,

its very useful…

yes, everything that you did
wrote is true for me too…

I have used all my long life
To read, to read, to read,
I have two big libraries at home
With hundred books…

Now from a long time
I didn’t read any book,
Perhaps the last one
was “Awakening to the dream”….lol

Sooooo many years agoooooo…….

Haven’t any interest in any book!

Then Internet, there were years
I was reading all interesting sites and blogs
On Internet, many, many articles, it was
Just unsatisfied hunger for reading
And knowledge…

This too passed away…

Now, i don’t go to any site,
don’t surfing Internet at all,
even there are days don’t turn on the computer…

The same with TV, very rarely look at TV, ordinary
in evening for a short time…

...feeling not very comfortable with TV

IT is like disinterested, disengaged from all life,
but then from who’s or what’s life…

Sometimes have the sense that i do live
in completely different reality, peaceful and
calm and this is completely different ‘person’
from that one i used to be…

Now I really enjoying the aloneness and calmness

IT's feeling good when see that the 'other'
people are going trough the same experiences

thank you again, makara....

Before awakening the mountains are the mountains and the seas are the seas.
During awakening the mountains become the seas and the seas the mountains.
After awakening, the mountains are the mountains and the seas are the seas...

...figuratively.

Things haven't changed at all for me since I ''Woke up''

Still watch TV, love that American teen thingy called 90210 < (strange but true):wink:

Still read books, love watching DVD's

Love traveling, holidays, going to parties, dinning out, sometimes shopping.

Life is much more funner than it was before, i have such a good laugh at life and everyone who crosses my path.

I live each day like it was my last, and there is not enough hours in the day.

Time seems to have speeded up so much lately, it's a bit scary.
I know that's impossible, but it sure does feel like it has speeded up.
And that's why i'm making the most of everyday and everyone.

I work in a hotel which i love very much, and hope to be there until i retire, which will be when they kick me out, hopefully i'll be still there in my 70's or 80's if they haven't kicked me out by then.....lol

I'm 52 years old at the moment.
I'm healthy fit and slim.
Got 4 great kids.

I can't get enough of life.

I'm single too..........yippp eeeeeeee!!!

ps, awakening to the dream was the best thing that ever happened to me......hahahaha

apart from giving birth to my kids, that was the best bit.
I love talking about nothing ...
it is the only thing i know anything about.

I love tv, science fiction, Strar Trek, Oprah when her shows are about becoming more aware, more conscious etc...

I've collected a great many spiritual books, but can't seem to get around to reading them, just don't feel the need anymore.

But you're original post Makara is what interests me, because, from my perspective, it's not about others, about how they view or experience any changes in their lives, which is interesting of course... but it's the apparent changes in my own life that are more important (actually not that important at all!), because whatever happens, whatever changes occur, boils down to comparing one past behaviour with a present behaviour , and what does that get you???

Yes suppose so in a very literal way ...
but the thread is about
what remains ... as 'others' have said
after awakening the dream goes on and
one must keep the head above it's waters.

So there is this continuing to do the limited,
earthly, human activities ... even when they mean
nothing. So it's not comparing for any purpose
it's just different expressions of the ALL sharing
a similar experience.
Gratitude here is experienced at the above posts.

What a wonderful thread!

I'm increasingly finding that I'm bored of tuning-in to the average-joe/ josephine's opinions on radio talk-shows... bored of getting drunk every bloody day... bored of watching shows about 'the origins of the Cosmos'....

So far, nothing has come in to replace that though.

Still very interested in clothes, hairstyles and fashion :D

I'm bored of tuning-in to the average-joe/ josephine's opinions on radio talk-shows.
Hear hear ... same for this bum (body und mind)

One morning I'd had enough ... another day
loomed with nothing to do, nowhere to go,
no work, no money blah blah ... so I wondered
what might happen if I just sat and didn't move.
So I did.
Only shifted once or twice for biological necessity.

Suddenly it was evening .. I couldn't believe it ...
where had the day gone? and how come it felt
so good having done stuff all all day?

Hmmm...must do that again.

It took me ages to be unafraid of an empty day...
for so long those days just yawned in front
of me and swallowed me whole ... it was daunting.
Yet ... nothing bad happened and here
I am still. Fascinating!

Recently it was of huge help to me to
carry all the time the awareness that
everything, everything is in the mind.
