Eli

Post by toombaru » Tue Jul 06, 2010 5:42 pm

Eli Jaxon Bear was one of my teachers.

We all fell in love with him.

Most humans can endure adulation only so long from the opposite sex before adulation turns into mutual adulation.

Well...........Eli did the unthinkable.

He slipped into the trap that nature had wired into his brain and had an affair.

A lot of the talk on the web involved the social crucifixion of poor Eli.

The marriage counselling groups that he gave with Gangaji wanted blood.

After the storm had died down a little, I wrote him a letter that told him that now I loved him more.

Through his actions......I knew that we we were all simply human...doing the best we could.

No one higher......no one lower.

He wrote back and said that even into turmoil......even in the pounding of pitch forks.......and even in the sobbing of disappointed souls.....there was a pristine quiet at the center.

If for some mysterious reason.....Life casts you in the guru role....you'd be far better off if nature had blessed you with a face like Nisargadatta.

I like the view ~ that the realization and trueness of what we really are
isnt affected not even by our actions

"Forgive them Father
for they know not
what they do."

Never did, still don't.

Ah projection ...
a lifetime's psychological
study -
if you're stupid enough
to get involved.

What kind of "marriage counselling groups" did he conduct? What did hey say there?

Maybe he smugly asserted: "Faithfulness in marriage is absolutely important." (is he married at all)

If so, the rage of his followers is totally understandable.

If not, people are just disappointed because their illusory reality tunnels have been broken into pieces. They believe that gurus 'just don't do such things', which is obviously ridiculous!

Oh........I see.
You were thinking that Eli was a separate human being endowed with personal volition.

From that perspective, I can see why you would think the way you do.

His followers...are they separate human beings endowed with personal volition?!

Were he not to preach on faithfulness in marriage, his followers wouldn't be angry at him, when he goes for an affair.

however, as I said, I don't know what he was telling people at his seminar!

If it is knowledge of rivers you seek..
...your buckets are useless.

Falling in love with anything is a
handhold on the receding horizon.

Falling in love with one's teacher.......
is a way to anchor in the dream.

The guru's most precious gift is to sever the rope.

Most teachers are deeply interwoven
into the dream tapestry and have no idea
what is occurring.

It appears that a few......perhaps Nissy.....or the dude in the diapers
apperceived the process......

....but maybe not.

No matter.......the entire dream is self cleaning.

the dude in the diapers
Oh dear Toomby .... is this any way
to speak of a Mahatma? since he is also 'me'.
(presume it is Gandhi being referred to?)

Can you say a little more about: -
Most teachers are deeply interwoven
into the dream tapestry and have no idea
what is occurring.
Do you mean that most (teachers)
are not self-realised?

If this is the case then
'they' ought not to be teaching
at all.

The dude in the diapers is Ramama.

Within the dream......all separation is apparent.

There are no volitional entities.

The Living Light scintillates in the space between the student and the teacher..........and that is what you are.

You were never localized in a psychological entity.

Your essence perfumes the gap that appears to separate.

Have just read the other thread
(about teachers ... stetching bubbles
and warping worldviews...)
so clear now.

Ok so Ramana dressed like Gandhi?

You were never localized in a psychological entity.
Yes indeed ... earlier comment

was intended to relate to dreamworld,
to unconsciousness.
