So why then does consciousness always experience everything from the perspective of fox?

Because............. that is fox's perspective.

Fox.

The answer given from the perspective of toombaru sure looks like toombaru... he is always buggering up his 'quote boxes' so it is not clear who is quoting whom. Very Happy

I've taken the liberty to clear up the confusion Cool

There's no argument with the answer. Though I wouldn't say "fox's perspective". The phrasing tends to give the impression that fox is an independent thing/person 'having a perspective'.

But then who's to quibble over words... only this perspective Very Happy

Fox doesn't have or own a perspective. Fox is the perspective.

Fox is everything that is seen and experienced by through and for Consciousness alone... as the events of 'fox's life' unfold.

In a film, the camera may take the perspective of one of the characters and the voiceover may express the character's thoughts. The character does not own or have this perspective.

Only the viewer sees the image on the screen and only the viewer hears the 'thoughts'.

It is the 'viewer' that sees the apparent world (of the film)... from the perspective of the character... 'as if' the character is real and seeing the world and having thoughts.

So Consciousness experiences 'within the visual, aural and other sensory fields' a single view of the world seen and felt 'from the perspective of fox'... and, as each experience is given form through the senses, so for every perspective.

Fox will never 'get this'.

Love

Hi Fox

Has it never happened (during your reported magick mushroom adventures for example) that the Fox perspective got dropped or stretched beyond its familiar boundaries?
And is the Fox perspective not dropped every night in deep sleep? What you seem to want is to see from other focal points while still 'knowing' the Fox focal point....which of course IS the way IT appears as Fox.

Often we get it all backwards. We think that we are this finite perspective and we want to experience the infinite. Could it not be that the infinite is not an experience, just like there can be no idea to describe the formless?
Could it be that the infinite experiences ItSelf by taking the finite perspectives of apparent persons, including birds, aliens, silkworms and Swiss citizens?

No need to be in a hurry. The drop of individuality will reunite with the ocean of infinity. It will happen by itself and show that it was never really separated at all... it just seems like that for a while. That's the nature of the game as it appears right now.

If you want to invest some time in this, look at the Q&A in news letter number 25 where the exact same question is answered in a different way. Also have a look at the 2 Alan Watts' stories in this forum under the topic "A True Reality of Consciousness!" Especially the second one.
