orange is a delicous color, best at midnight

seeking a single grain,
that one, crawling on the beaches of
eternity, one's sun dropped out from sight
orange glow only, now
up here, it's not long now
'til midnight....

and i wake from this dream
my body having been floated up
by these in-coming tides
and i wake now to dawn's first curl of
that tide's returning,
-blinded by a single grain,
-blurring the eye's visions,
now, pounded over and over by these waves,
i crawl ashore,
alive-still, magically it seems
and i resumes the search...

this search
like this
for this
single grain
went on for what seemed
a life's time,
this grain and i shared this single fate
of our long-awaited reuniting,
for it was i that had dropped it,
so carelessly,
here on these beaches,
i was that way then,
it was there,
right at the very tip of my finger,
and the sun, flashing through it's fractured form
displayed lights and images of
unknown and inexpressible beauties...
what a foolish child i was,
loosing that one in an attempt
to fill up my hands with more,
more for later,
more to share and give away,
and in that effort,
that one,
unlike the others was lost then,
alive now only in my dreams it seems,
and now, again,
surviving the ship's-wrecks of time
i find myself here again
on this very same beach,
it's vastnesses then-beyond comprehension,
and the thought now,
of finding that grain,
here again,
after all this time,
destroys the me that seeks it,
i can only sleep,
finding this one in my dreams,
it's alive-in my eye again,
an' we have found the out-bound currents...
we are free, again
i am sinking...
but i have that one now,
so what matter,
the end has found its beginning,
the grain was always here,
lost and not lost,
it's midnight again...

those currents travel their own way,
an ancient way beyond
any one's comprehension,
so to find myself again, cast to land
once again tumbling out of these waves
and waking into the blackness of night
on unknown shores,
the warm blacknesses sprinkled over
with these little grains of lights
and the atmosphere down here
plays tricks,
and eye sees those movements
and colors there again,
in that deep endless black,
and i feel the pounding of those waves
down there, and here i feel it vibrated through my
heart's-cage of ribs of bones,
and the pounding of waves
is replaced by the gentle
rhythm from this heart inside me now,
i feel-hear it in my ears and
behind my eye,
and even there
in that finger tip...
and i needs to rest, now
dreaming my way back to
day's light again...

returning sun
warms the child's face,
the tide has return'd
erasing any foot prints left
on eternity's beaches...

Very stunningly beautiful...

and even that doesn't sufficiently describe it...

ah, at a loss for words...

but maybe that's because
you've deftly stolen and woven
the most exquisite ones
into this remarkable tapestry...

...breathtaking.

ahh maple
you're sweet..
yet i was only trying to describe the moment,
as you do so often and so well,
and my fingers got carried away by it...
good thing i can only hunt and peck
(and i'm no heron)
but if had ever learned to type
those nimble fingers
may not have been able to keep it short
and sweet...
Smile

Very Happy

So you've finally come up for air!

I knew you'd discover this sooner or later.

Follow the breadcrumbs, didja?

"The Kingdom of the Father is like a man,
a merchant, who possessed merchandise
and found a pearl.
That merchant was prudent.
He sold the merchandise,
he bought the one pearl for himself.
Do you also seek for the treasure which fails not,
which endures,
there where no moth comes near to devour
and where no worm destroys."

The Gospel according to Thomas.

Okay... yeah... maybe I'm sweet, (thank you! Angel)
but not sweet for seeing/telling the truth, k?

You rock, jeff... seriously. daumen_hoch
(And that's why I asked you when the book was coming out? Wink)

Well, I agree that's a good thing, (that you can only hunt and peck),
otherwise you'd just run off and leave us all behind. Wink

And hey, I'm very glad you're "no heron" ...
because that would be... um... redundant?

I mean, I do really appreciate heron's special type of "magnificence," (and his "hard rippling six pack"! woot!) ...
but ya know, variety is also why we're all here, right? Very Happy

Really, I do seriously like jeff's "magnificence" too...

And besides, don't you realize heron also can only "hunt and peck," when he's going after those fishies?
So ya see, besides the obvious "magnificence" of both of you, you still do have other things in common as well. Wink

Just don't ever doubt that you are indeed appreciated, k? Very Happy

Yeah, I guess I did! Very Happy

Jeff's first "line" was such a seductive "lure."... And here again, I don't even know what it means, but there's something totally captivating about the words "orange is a delicious color, best at midnight."

Hmm...I don't know what it is, but I just know that it is.

And now I'm just trying to figure out a way(excuse) to weave that "quote" into a post... Think ... (in the meantime, it too will be "archived." Wink)

thanks Maple and Sara,

i'm not why i feel blocked about thanking
'others' for compliments, but i need to say thanks
to michael for engaging the conversation,
and to leo for providing the space and opportunity,
and to toombaru and all of you, and to the guy who
strings up electrical wires, and to the gal who invented
computers, and to my mom for giving birth, and to
all those people that make food available, and to...
all these teachers that add to the effect of freeing or opening
a space where words might fall out of...
and last of all
thanks to people in here that are by nature
kind, loving supportive, joyful, comic, sexy and fun,
and have no problems expressing it all, all the time...

this little experiment has so many moments of beauty and
truth...aren't we lucky, it's It All marvelous and mysterious,
isn't maple the sweetest? and sarasweeter?
love jeff

where I come from
a few years back we had a State Premier called 'jeff'
he went about tearing up the social fabric of the community
closing 'uneconomic' schools and hospitals
and generally destroying the comfortable world we knew

since then there is a saying when someone destroys the status quo
it is: "to be jeffed"

it seems we have all been 'jeffed' here... in the nicest possible way... smile

of course, what most people seem to forget is that 'creation' requires 'destruction'...

as it turned out, some of the institutions destroyed have been re-built 'better than before'....

its a cycle

not a 'bi-cycle'

(not two... grin)

but

a 'uni-cycle'...

balancing out the yin and yang...

Love
