listen my darling,
this poem is speaking to you
one hollow reed
to another,
let these words pass through you
like the moonlight and its primordial shadow,
like Spring blossoms
that have yet to surrender
like the surf pounding in your heart,
our longing
bringing us home
where the Scarlet Ibis becomes the sun.
