"Today, the reason we haven't found our grail, the key to who we are as women,
is because we look for it in worlds of false power,
the very worlds that took it away from us in the first place.
Neither men nor work can restore our lost scepter.
Nothing in this world can take us home.
Only the radar in our hearts can do that, and when it does..
We will light up like lamps, and the world will never be the same again. "

Nothing was ever lost, the only thing that apparently blocks that awareness is the belief that there is. |

Yes and No.
Females have been led down the religious path by *enlightened* religious leaders... All religions make the female a secondary (or less than) citizen of the universe. Some more so than others.
And then we have to come against the *enlightened spiritual* leaders who have not yet completely worked out their own mother/mother God issues.
It isn't easy, I tell you. Few men have not even a trace of the *good old boy ways*.

Life in the dream isn't easy...
If it would be 'easy' the dream would be quickly over...and "Oneness" apparently doesn't like it to be quickly over, as we all can notice...
"Duality" (man versus woman, smart versus stupid, easy versus difficult,...) comes from the same root as "Duel" and that means "fight"...and that says it all. |

Agreed.
Hmmm, of that entire paragraph, this is the only part that seems to apply...
Nothing in this world can take us home.
Aha! ...(and also, Haha! )
And nothing can take us home because in the non-dual context, there really is no "world," and nothing to "take," and no "us," and no "home" either... (um, that is, except as an "appearance").
Or put another way, there's no getting back to where you never left... |

As one with no choice but to
keep on person-ing
I can't wait for the opposite sex to
understand that
Quote: | Neither men nor work can restore our lost scepter. |
So recently as a decade or two back
I would agree that
Quote: | Few men have not even a trace of the *good old boy ways*. |
but no longer ...
maybe the men in suits block the view
but there are more and more of us,
invisible, quiet, hidden each day. |

Good post. I agree.
It's about finding the right balance. It's never easy.
Diligence is the key.
Practice makes perfect.

'Diligence/Perfect'...I think everything is diligent/perfect in his/her/its own way...although not always qualified that way by 'others'.
Everything is absolutely unique, so incomparable...or every comparison is relative. |

Perhaps, the difference is that the cats (love the pic, caption!) are playing and not out to kill to claim/defend their *territory*,etc.
When we can play the game without intent to *harm*... the game of duality is most enjoyable.
Like here.

Almost. However, it was thought that took us on the journey. And it is thought that brings us home, so to speak.

For the sake of this discussion let's assume that REALIZATION=HOME...
Some might say that "HOME" is the letting go of the thought that thought can take us on a journey or bring us home. Relinquishing the thought that we could be anywhere other than home is what reveals that home is where we always/already are. In fact, this so-called "HOME" is where we couldn't ever leave, even if we wanted to. So how could we be brought back to where we can't ever leave?
That's why I wouldn't agree that it's thought that brings us home, because in the non-dual way of explaining, it's the absence of thought that reveals we could not ever be away from "HOME." And the thought that we could be brought back to where we never left, is just more thought, (aka make-believe).
And depending on whether your bogus thoughts tell you that you're coming or going, whether you're trying to run away, or trying to desperately find your way back home, the REALIZATION that you're always/already in the only possible "place" might make you or or or or or or or or
Or said yet another way...Ahem!... and just where do you THINK you're going??? |

Good thread (oops not supposed to qualify...
but such threads are a sort of nourishment!)

Both views are helpful.
First that thought took us away from 'home' and thus
is a part of leading us back.
What else but thought took 'me' away from being whole,
or in the 'natural state'? Instiutionalised thought (education).
The Dali Lama says (in his essay entitled "Compassion":
"It begins with a rational decision." ie thought.
Eventually the second position is reached imho.
It's as if we drive the car (thought) as far as the road goes;
then we have to get out and walk to the swimming hole.
Maybe this is exactly like the expession:
"You need it till you don't." |

One cannot let go of a thought.....how absurd, virtually impossible.
Thoughts are appearances in that which is always here now, dead still, always have been, now here, not there.
No one to let go of a thought.
No one to grab hold of a thought.
'Thoughts' are free, they come and go in that which is free, information wants to be free, whether thought's appear as thoughts of separation or not is totally irrelevant.

In the total absence of 'thought' there would be totally 'no thinking' this is impossible.....
in the total absence of thought, the thought of being separate wouldn't even arise in the first place, again impossible.
How can the absence of 'thought' reveal anything? that kind of thinking is just another example of nondual typical semantic nonsense.
The self is always aware of itself, haven't you noticed?
This awareness is no-thing in which apparent some-things arise, unavoidably so, thoughts, which are really no thing.
One needs 'thought' to get behind the thinker, when awareness knows sensation, consciousness is born,
to then realize there is no thinker, there's just 'thoughts thinking'
Non/ Duality cannot be played any other way.
