Can there be love….without there being hate?

Can there be peace…without there being war?

Can there be happiness…without there being sadness?

Can there be heaven…without there being hell?

Can there be me…without there being you?

Can there be this…without there being that?

Can there be sanity…without there being madness?

Can there truly be anything without an opposite?

Can there be a Non Duality?

The only thing that really seems to not have a polar opposite is

There are always some questions……That have no answers!

Peace!

You mice think you're so smart...

But you run at the sight of a little pussy.

Unlike men who stand firm.

Does this compute?

Only the mice know the answer to this question (if you don't take my double meaning Evil or Very Mad Embarassed ).

Because they know what the earth and all men really are, and why they are here...

don't they saraputer?

... at least till the by-pass goes through.

fox, if you see a Bulldozer, you'd better hope your name is Arthur and that the improbability drive is working... Shocked Cool Very Happy

We are a race of hyper-intelligent pan-dimensional beings, after all!

Actually, that is pretense, just part of the experiment.

Shhh! Careful! Mae might storm in here and yell, "Resistance is useless!" and that could disrupt our research into your...er... 'brain'!

We constructed "Deep Thought"; what IT can't compute, it will design another computer that can!

Kahlil Gibran 1883-1931

Poet, philosopher, and artist, was born in Lebanon, a land that has produced many prophets.

The millions of Arabic-speaking peoples familiar with his writings in that language consider him the genius of his age.

But he was a man whose fame and influence spread far beyond the Near East. His poetry has been translated into more than twenty languages.

His drawings and paintings have been exhibited in the great capitals of the world and compared by Auguste Rodin to the work of William Blake.

In the United States, which he made his home during the last twenty years of his life, he began to write in English.

The Prophet and his other books of poetry, illustrated with his mystical drawings, are known and loved by innumerable Americans who find in them an expression of the deepest impulses of man's heart and mind.

On Joy & Sorrow

Then a woman said, "Speak to us of Joy and Sorrow."

And he answered:

Your joy is your sorrow unmasked.

And the selfsame well from which your laughter rises was oftentimes filled with your tears.

And how else can it be?

The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain.

Is not the cup that hold your wine the very cup that was burned in the potter's oven?

And is not the lute that soothes your spirit, the very wood that was hollowed with knives?

When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy.

When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.

Some of you say, "Joy is greater than sorrow," and others say, "Nay, sorrow is the greater."

But I say unto you, they are inseparable.

Together they come, and when one sits alone with you at your board, remember that the other is asleep upon your bed.

Verily you are suspended like scales between your sorrow and your joy.

Only when you are empty are you at standstill and balanced.

When the treasure-keeper lifts you to weigh his gold and his silver, needs must your joy or your sorrow rise or fall.
