Tips for Avoiding Spam Filters

Apparently some readers have ceased getting Awakening to the Dream Newsletter because their sensitive spam detectors have filtered it out.

Different service providers, email programs, and employers use varied methods to try and keep you from being overwhelmed by spam. Unfortunately, some of these methods occasionally mistake email that you've opted to receive for spam. If you suspect that your newsletter is being caught by your spam filter, here are some things you can try to rectify the situation:
  • Add our from address (News@awakeningToTheDream.com) to your address book. Some service providers, such as AOL and MSN, make exceptions to all their spam rules for any email address in a personal address book.

  • AOL and MSN don't display HTML (formatted text and pictures) in email from unknown senders by default. You can change your default to display HTML, if they allow you to do this.

  • Also some email programs, by default, don't display HTML. If you have trouble reading HTML emails, chances are that your email program defaults to text email only. You can change this in your email program.

  • Some email providers or Internet service providers have white lists of approved senders. If putting our from address in your address book does not work, then you might check to see if your email provider uses a white list.

  • Talk to your email administrators or providers to see if they have installed any new spam filters or security protocols. They may be able to make exceptions to their spam rules or suggest adjustments that you can make to the security settings on your computer which will allow you to continue to receive your newsletter.
If you continue to have trouble receiving your newsletter, send me an email at News@awakeningToTheDream.com. Please includes your email address and the date you last received the newsletter.
