I honestly believe that this journey into self is the bravest adventure that a human mind can endure. In truth, I am not speaking of God and gods and the lunacy of the belief structures they support. But Toom, this is itself a belief structure. For example this statement: If you were to openly ques...

Re: Sumthin.

The cathedral of self is built from and buttressed by its imaginary gods. The only light that enters streams in through stained glass. It is not God or Jesus that I am trying cast from their nest in the dream of personal autonomy. It is god-thinking that is the culprit and is the focus of intent. M...

Re: To Awakening.

If there is no-one existing nowhere, and the brain doesn't do anything.. What exactly is consciousness and does it even exist? And if the brain does nothing, does that even exist? Some say consciousness is an emergence of brain activity, a by-product. And that mind and consciousness are both proces...

Funny to see that 'who-question' coming back again and again...

I thought 'I' was associated with it as being "the non-duality-fanatic"...

but it 'seems' 'others' are asking that same old question too...

Re: Sumthin.

But besides that, it's getting a bit tiresome to host and pay for an obsessive atheist toombaru soapbox. Several options to remedy this are available, but perhaps the forum members have a fresh suggestion? Who cares? Personally , I couldn't care less when you closed the forum some time ago. On the ...

Re: Sumthin.

An omnipotent, omnipresent, omnibenevolent God created the entire universe just so a hairless ape could strut itself on center stage. Ain't that sumthin? Perhaps she has a sense of humor... But besides that, it's getting a bit tiresome to host and pay for an obsessive atheist toombaru soapbox. Seve...

Woman, religion....Does it matter?

An old monk and a young monk were walking through a forest when they came to a river bank and saw a beautiful young woman standing at the edge of the bank. The woman told the monks that she was afraid to cross the river because she might slip and be carried downstream. She asked if one of the monks ...

Can you point to a paradox in nature? It can be done, yet I cannot... There is everything yet nothing at all. Here we are, and yet we are not. There are the many yet there is only One... Or Zero. Something cannot come from nothing and yet is does. All knowing blossoms into not knowing. An open secr...

The mind explores its own vastness, its own edge, its own limitations - but it can't find it... Oh yes it can.... As a hand may 'know' what it is capable and incapable of, without thereby becoming totally useless, so the mind may know it's limitations without thereby becoming totally untrustworthy. Knowing a tool's limits could even make it more useful. Then of course the question remains: 'Who's tool? Useful ...

Saying that the brain 'does' is like saying that the radio makes music. Saying that the phantom self does all kinds of stuff to maintain itself is like saying that the shadow can....oh well.... This Leo shadow better keeps quiet. But is it up to him? http://www.toonpool.com/user/1044/files/the_bad_s...
