Also.....

It seems I have a small collection of vintage

TAH DAH.....

Toombaru Bumper Stickers:

What would Zorba do?
[What would Lao Tzu do?*]

All experience is personal.

Relationships are impossible.

[What about "elationships"? :P]

A humble you..........is still a you.

Concepts............all the way down.

[Turtles all the way down***]

You can never get 'there' from 'here'.

There is no such thing as everything.
("Everything" would have to include itself.**)

Expanded condensations are still condensations.

A rose by any other name........ is no longer a rose.

The ultimate understanding......... is that there is no understanding.

The only understanding of value is that there is nothing .......and no one.....to understand.

Life as human consciousness creates an inner mental world...an elaborate story....in which there is nothing of significance.

Love,
saralsolikes: "Neti! Neti!"

*Not T! Not T!

("What would toombaru do?"

would be a fun sticker, too!)

**("not a bumper sticker")

***Ahhh 'nemo' (aka Joe), I love that!
(What a concise concept! :D)

Hello who_now_z :)

i din't found the word Obfuscation in my dictionary,
so i found it in dictionary.com:

1.to confuse, bewilder, or stupefy.
2. to make obscure or unclear: to obfuscate a problem with extraneous information.
3. to darken

also

1.To make so confused or opaque as to be difficult to perceive or understand: "A great effort was made . . . to obscure or obfuscate the truth" (Robert Conquest).
2.To render indistinct or dim; darken: The fog obfuscated the shore.

:)

Where I live there is a naval air station with very loud, annoying jets. But without the military the local income would decrease. Also, due to it's beach, tourism greatly increases the Summer population.

Two popular bumper stickers are:

"I love jet noise"

and

"We love tourists. Now go home".

Don't have stickers on my car as I have nothing to say (and sometimes say it here).

BTW I came up with the phrase "shift happens" months ago in another group and hadn't seen it from anyone else until it was just listed in this thread.

Nice detective work ANNA! =D>

Yes, the whole phrase means to avoid obscuring or avoid overcomplicating things, yet uses obscure, complex and little used terms to state it - exactly what it says not to do. ;-)

Could you add to that Toombaru's - "Nope.....that's not he answer." ??
