For the inside ("rippling") jokes

Post by maple3 » Sun Feb 04, 2007 2:13 am

I just realized some newer members might not understand these references to "hard rippling six pack," etc. So if anyone would like to catch up to what we're talking about, check out this thread where all this "beery-hairy-heron" stuff got started.

And then if that's not enough for ya, also check out this other thread where sara and heron continued on with "swishing tails" and "backward bending knees" and "peeking under feathers."

After that, things here-on should make a whole lot more non-sense. ;)

Ahhh...just look at that magnificent undercarriage!

BTW, maple, its 'knee' is really its 'ankle' (or "heel"?):

"...but then there are the legs greatly elongated,

the heel [ankle] joint [not the knee] articulated high"*

So again...

no more of this talk about bird 'knees'... please!

Oh, that it, isn't it? The apparent back-kneed heron hypnotizes the unsuspecting little fishies by displaying his "magnificence" (ah, the show off... yeah, just look at him!), and then while the little fishies are "swooning" he gobbles them up?... er, or down?

Okay, maybe we'll just go easy on him until he's healed. But hey, after that, we'll have to ask him about all these "flighty" attempts to mesmerise (and tickle) us with his feathered undercarriage.

Aww, but I LIKE talking about "bird knees"... :P

Oh, okay then... now that I think about it, pointing at "articulated high" bird ankles can probably be just as interesting(amusing). (And wow, I never knew bird anatomy could be like this absorbing!)

Also I've been wondering WHO is it that decides when a knee's a knee, and when an ankle's an ankle? I mean... just how do they figure that out? :? And you say it could even be a "heel"? :o :D (hehe I just love ambiguous words ;))

But wait... how in the world could the "heel" be a part of the leg? Or are you saying what appears to be his leg is really his foot?

Darnit, I'm really confused now

Wowie, sister sara, you're really on a roll! \:D/

Okay, since you've already covered ALL the "hoopla," I have nothing more to add...

But .... hmm... okay, I admit I do have one teeny-weeny comment about this...
sara wrote:I'll discreetly ignore the part about "peeking under those feathers",
if you don't 'mind'!
But saradiscreetwink, I swear, 'twas an innocent thought... honest

The thing is... this birdy anatomy is getting quite interesting, and since heron's ankles are so "highly articulated," I thought that peeking under the feathers might possibly reveal some extraordinarily high knees (or maybe even some knee-highs, ha! ;)) So, I swear, 'twas an innocent excursion that I was contemplating that I might have under them up-high (erm, high-up) feathers, honestly. And then, if there were no high-up knees to be found after all, there is always the option(promise?) of the hard rippling six pack... mm-mmm [tanz]

But as to all the rest of your saramazing spiel, I can only say... Yeah....what she said. [ok] :D

And hey, that's really okay too, (unless some no-body was hoopla-ing(hoping?) for something else? :P)

And after we SEE/see all the hoop'deedoop'la, well then, there's nothing else to do... erm... except (perhaps?) to go right back to the "play." ... (and for maple3 that might be to go exploring in here-on feathery ways for some high-up bird knees :D ... and wowie, I'm having a whole lotta "hoopla" just thinking about it! \:D/)

So, hoopla... what about 'you'? :-k

I mean, so how do 'you' hoop'deedoop'la after 'you' SEE/see? :?:
