THIS is always awake!!!

Post by Lydian » Wed Aug 29, 2007 10:57 am

In the same way that sight is always apparent though you can’t actually see ‘seeing’ (it is known by the fact of seeing); life is always apparent by the fact of aliveness (it really has nothing to do with the mind "getting it".)

So, “not getting it” is aliveness/awakeness arising as “not getting it”.

It's THIS!

THIS is always awake!!!

I don't get this Lydian.

Here are some thoughts:

It may seem as if intellectual understanding is actually something "getting" something else.

But really it is just an emotion, a slight variant on the emotions of "recognition" or "familiarity"

The mind does not actually ever "get" anything. What is "got" by whom and how is a nebulous fiction that seems real if you don't look too closely

There is just a feeling, then another feeling, then another.

The sense of continuity that arises is just another feeling or emotion that is soon replaced by another.

Get it?

I think you're onto something here Phil. :D

Reality / THIS is like slow fire, burning... kind of constant motion, ever new....
There is nothing before this and nothing after it - just this living edge... burning....

It can't be made into a concept.... BUT the very arising of conceptualisation is also THIS... more fire....

This describes a feeling that "I have had" frequently in recent days, and describes it well.
Lydian wrote: It can't be made into a concept.... BUT the very arising of conceptualisation is also THIS... more fire....
The arising of conceptualisation is "descended into" making the images seem like stories, and creating the sense of there being a "choice point" around which "I" and "this" have their existence.

Thre is a subtle awareness that "I" and "this" are somehow in the past - "done" and therefore not capable of "doing".

The character in a novel cannot think. His thoughts are written. He does not "get" anything.

As I type, it is not clear exactly what is aware of all this though... :?

Curse you, Lydian, my old nemesis.

What is 'known' with absolute certainty?

IS is constant! 'Something' IS! It’s ON!
This ON - ness is what you are... This light is what you are...

And for anything to be - including confusion, doubt etc., this ON - ness must be...
It can’t be missed! It’s expressing right now as this, and this, and this...

Part of this expression, is of the play of a separate entity with a "choice point"... As long as there is the expression as an human organism, this "choice point" will remain.

Yet it may be sensed that it's all being 'done'... all just arising...
