ahh... anna not just 'today'...

this 'fleeting moment' that appears as 'today' is the apparent 'Present'...

this 'real' Gift is 'always'... 'timeless' and 'spaceless'... ever unchanged... perfect as it is...

it is 'Life' itself

Omniscient... knowing all that is knowable
Omnipotent... the only power there is
Omnipresent... whatever appears... appears in its presence alone...

toombaru wrote:I see no comparison.
of course not... :D
michael wrote:as I recall... the Buddha never said the cause of suffering was the belief in god... but that it lay in desire and ignorance...
toombaru wrote:The belief in god is the belief in self.
michael wrote:of course... a belief in a separate god is a manifestation of 'ignorance'...
michael wrote:The belief in any god........inside or outside.... is a manifstation of ignorance.
yes any 'belief'...
michael wrote:which is simply this One 'ignoring' its 'own beingness' (no concept in mind :D )... in favour of enjoying the apparent moment... the experience of appearing to be two...
toombaru wrote:The "appearing to be two......is the suffering.
yes... and the pleasure... and the joy...

though every 'pleasure' is the seed of every suffering... so too every suffering is the seed of every joy...
michael wrote:which by its very nature ('the world') includes both pleasure and suffering... 'good' and 'evil'... (can't have one without the other)...
toombaru wrote:Actually.......you can't have either.
though it seems so... sort of like having your cake and eating it too... :D
toombaru wrote:Believing that you can (actually have 'good' and 'evil') is the dreadful drama.
yes... the drama...

'to characterise it as 'dreadful'... is just another 'value judgement'... a conception
michael wrote:all that appears to be 'evil'... is already in this heart...

if 'evil' appears... it appears in this awareness alone... for this is all there is...
toombaru wrote:No...........that is egoic grandiosity.

It tends to cling to the belief that it is the center of the universe......actually....it is the clinging....
granted there is no actual 'evil' ... or... 'good' here...

so where is all this 'evil' that is now seen from the perspective of toombaru
michael wrote:from the perspective of the 'person' I seem to be... the world may be characterised as 'all suffering'... where every pleasure is the seed of every suffering...

or... it can be characterised as 'all joy'... as when seen for what it is...
toombaru wrote:The duality of it is seen........only by the delusional.
there is no such 'thing' as 'the delusional'... except as conceived...

its just a 'delusion'... 8) only kidding...
michael wrote:this buddha field... in which all 'play' appears... wherein no One is ever harmed...
toombaru wrote:Micheal......That's just the mind.....imagining a personal heaven.
ahh... dear toombaru... it is 'you' that are the imagined... expressing imaginary thoughts...

along with 'michael'... :D
michael wrote:the Buddha did not disavow the apparent world... 'he' simply said that its true nature is vacuous... it is only as it is imagined to be...

toombaru wrote:He also negated the one imagining.
because this cannot be imagined...

of course... dear One... :D

though what is being symbolised in the word 'Love'... is not a feeling... nor is it exclusively identified with the 'apparent fleeting moment'... that seems from some perspectives to be characterised as 'now'... or 'today'....

'now' and 'today' and...

'Love'...

are timeless...

the so called ultimate state is etenal and infinite unexhaustibly expressing its nature.

everything that can be known is only its expressions/reflections/appearances/creations/manifestations.

the ultimate state is unknowable
and the ultimate understanding is there is nothing to understand

but nor is it any different to this 'ordinary' 'everyday'...

seeing/colour
hearing/sound
feelin/feelings
tasting/flavours
smelling/odours
knowing/number/form/meaning

expressing as these 'ordinary' 'everyday' appearances...

Certainly Michael... I understood how you used the word 'Love', and that it was not meant to indicate a fleeting feeling. In the same way I saw Anna's use of the word 'today' not intended as a fleeting point in time either.

When you addressed her use of the word as pertaining to 'the fleeting moment' instead of 'the eternal moment' I just wanted to demonstrate that the same could be done to the 'love word'.
