Mind can not live with lose ends.
For things that the mind can't find a reason....or any anomaly....it will fill in with:
"God's ways are mysterious" or "That's part of God's plan....and we sure as hell can't understand God' plan."
Those who are less inclined to believe in a creator god at the helm simply say:
"It's a mystery." and travel on through their personal dream believing that
they understand the nature of things.
Another way to look at it is that the self is nothing other than the belief structure that believes it knows what's going on.
And its attempts to understand or escape its own imagined condition only add more structure to its enclosure.
From the outside it seems almost funny.
From the inside is it the "suffering" of which the Buddha spoke.
A side note:
The self becomes the very suffering that it is trying to avoid and the Great Escape seems to happen when that is seen.
But all of its attempts to get a peek up its own skirts only increase its frantic spinning.
Something else has to happen........and I'll be damned if I know what that is.
And I'm pretty sure that no one.......anywhere does.
