Jumping Mouse

Post by makara » Sun Sep 19, 2010 1:50 am

With winter's approach the grasses died off
and Jumping Mouse caught sight of
a beautiful, snow-capped mountain.

"Come and see the beautiful Mountain" he invited
"you just have to jump."

But they were busy, over-weight, distracted
and it was easier to say;
"Jumping Mouse has a kangaroo loose in the top paddock".

"Yeah, he's a sandwich short of a picnic".

"He's jsut not the full dollar".

"It's the nut-house for him."

But Jumping Mouse kept faith with himself
and quietly one morning, took his little family
in the direction of the Mountain.

It was a long trek and the family became
humgry and tired often on the way
but Jumping Mouse consoled them
and they continued.

Then, suddenly, after reaching a ridge-top
there it lay - The Mountain and the valleys
where grain was grown.
Here the family fed well
and prospered.
